Revisiting an old topic

Saturday night, Don and I were coming home fairly late from a Retreat we were attending across town. We were on the Interstate loop when a stray dog ran across the highway. Don had to brake pretty fast to keep from hitting it. It was black and blended into the darkness, making it impossible to see until we were practically on top of it.

Don instinctively yelled, "Out of the way, you black alley dog. I almost hit you!"

At least I think it was instinctively.

Is "alley dog" the correct terminology?

I will post again soon. I actually wrote a post last night but for some reason it did not go through.

Hah! Too funny! Obsessions with Santa and the word "alley"! At least none of your family members have thought to combine the two!?

I talked to Grandpa and he wants to do dinner later so he won't miss ANY on the game. I told him you'd be happier that way.

I'll get back with you tomorrow about the final details.

Jan, maybe I'm giving out too much information. People are really going to begin to think I'm a looney.

I really am quite normal, as are my children and husband. We just live a funny life.

How are things going with you? Have you made any decisions about the house? Hope you're all well.

Talli - hi, there. I don't think I've ever heard anybody but my family call them "alley dogs". The kid's "alley" illness seems to have infected Don.

Should we start calling you "Alley Talley"? ;-) Just joking. But I am looking forward to your newest post, and that's no joke!!

Patti, Thanks for your caring questions. We're still in limbo, not because we haven't made a decision on a house, but because we're caught in a long line of homes selling "conditional on the sale of their home". No kidding. We have people who are interested in buying our home but can't make an offer until one comes in for their home. But, their buyer can't do anything until an official offer comes in for his home. Nobody can move until the first guy makes his offer. Then, it will be a domino effect. We're just hoping that the house we have our eye on will stay available until we can get to it. What an ordeal. We've been praying lots!

Patti,
Russell always says that if we had a psychiatrist and a lawyer in the family it would be a big help...both sides of the family would save alot of money! Can you guess which he was implying for our side of the family? I have yet to tell him about the "alley" or christmas obessions...no need to worry him...but "alley Santa" if it comes up...I don't know, I may have to!!
About the lunch thing...may we be waiting on Claude does anyone know?
